Recently I was awarded a residency through The Alfred and Trafford Klots International Program for Artists, which is administered through MICA or the Maryland Institute College of Arts, which resides in my neighborhood of Bolton Hill in Baltimore. For five weeks I will be living in Brittany in a small town of 3,000 called Lehon. You can't see it on the map below but it is in the vicinity of Rennes.
I have a lot of goals for the five week period, but mainly I would like to do at least two paintings that I'm really proud of while I'm there. That sounds like a modest goal, but if I think about it, it usually takes around a month to do a painting at home, so I can't imagine doing more than two solid ones (that are complete and not just studies) while I'm in Lehon.
